What is a Pomeranians temperment like??
Pomeranians came from the Pomerania region of Western Europe. They were bred down from the Spitz breed and they got to Pomerania from Germany, and they were imported there by Russia and Siberia. It is believed they share some ancestors with the other arctic breeds such as the Samoyed and Keeshond.
England Royalty loved this breed and helped its popularity and downsizing and recognition of the breed.
Pomeranians were first exported from England to the U.S., were the larger variety.
In 1900, the American Kennel Club gave the breed recognition, and the Pomeranian Club of America was also formed at this time
I call these dogs "most likely to go home with the mail man!" They are affectionate, friendly, alert, and extroverted by nature. They are energetic, clever, and intelligent and sometimes a little cocky. Most love to travel, since they are confident and know EVERYONE just loves them, and go where their owners go. They are just as happy however to sit home all day in your lap, or go on a walk. They are eager to please you, so its your call! They are happy!

Grooming of the Pomeranian
Pomeranians have a very thick dense coat. They do require regular brushing, bathing, and sometimes a clipping of their luxerious coats to keep them looking and feeling their best. Depending on where you live some Poms will MOLT in the summer loosing their entire coats in clumps as the new healthy hair grows in.
